Royal
blue jerseys flash as they come out of the locker rooms. The Royals are due up
first. The leadoff man Alcides
Escobar… first pitch fastball up the middle Escobar swings his bat and the ball
goes to left center for a leadoff double. The next three batters got out. The
first pitch for the Royals was thrown by Yordano
Ventura… “STRIKE ONE,” called the ump.
The
smell of food carried me away. I missed seven innings. When I was back the
score was four to four. Ninth inning Billy Butler is up Billy Butler hits a
line drive to third over the baseman, single. Alex Gordon is up he hits it…
“CRACK,” the ball is going, going, going GONE, SIX- FOUR ROYALS. Louis Coleman
came in at the bottom of the third while I
was on my
food spree. First pitch swung at. Ground
ball to short Escobar throws it to
first for the first out.
Next pitch
is for strike one. Second pitch pop fly two
outs. Louis Coleman one out away
from a save and a
win. First pitch… swung at deep
looks like it’s gone…
But wait Lorenzo Cain
isn’t giving up. He wall jumps
And SNAGS IT THREE OUTS
THE ROYALS WIN. Six –
four
the
Royals
are
on
their
way to the October Classic
